The first Pininfarina electric bike E-voluzione at EICMA 2016
Pininfarina electric bike E-voluzione, the first e-bike elaborated by the Turin designer and created in cooperation with Diavelo that won the prestigious Euro Bike Award thanks to very innovative project ideas, was presented at EICMA 2016.
E-voluzione is innovative from several standpoints. The key word of the project is integration.
Developed on a holistic design philosophy, all the main parts are perfectly integrated in the bike: the battery (patented technology), the mid-engine, the handlebar and stem, the cockpit, all the cables, the lighting system.
The advantage is not only aesthetic but also functional because it means a better weight distribution, balance, a more comfortable, and performing ride.
Pininfarina E-voluzione weighs only 16 kg as the bike was constructed with many components and chassis made of carbon fiber, with the frame assembled with the innovative carbon autoclave technology.
Strong innovation is seen in the motor and transmission. The high torque German Brose mid motor is fully integrated with the carbon frame. The belt drive transmission assures super silent drive and no maintenance. Moreover, the patented inside the frame Panasonic battery (500W – 13,6A – 36V) is fully integrated and easily removable for recharge.
Hydraulic disc brakes and a Shimano Alfine 8-speed gear hub complete the equipment of Pininfarina E-voluzione that is expected to enter the market in May, 2017. It will be offered in three different lines (Elegance, Hi-Tech and Dynamic) at the approximate price of 5,000 Euro.
